Baltimore City History Evening looks at Environmental Justice Issues in Curtis Bay-Brooklyn
The upcoming Baltimore History Evening presented by Baltimore City Historical Society and Village Learning Center is 7pm Thursday February 16th at 2521 Saint Paul Street. If you have never been to one these evenings are free, packed with people from all over town and full of lively discussion.

Nicole King, Assistant Professor of American Studies, UMBC, and Director, Orser Center for the Study of Place, Community, and Culture, will discuss the history of the communities that make up South Baltimore–several of which no longer exist as residential areas. Yes, there really is a Center for the Study of Place at UMBC.

I spent some time on the south side of the Patapsco River and went to a fun dedication ceremony in a tavern down there for the mile of murals along Curtis Avenue depicting life there a few years back.
