My Ode to the End of Summer: "Summer Will Never Last"
A song I wrote about the end of summer.
While I do enjoy writing, what I like writing the most are songs. This is a song that I wrote called Summer Will Never Last. The brilliant guitarist Guy DeBreilly played guitar on the recording. Guy lives in France and we exchanged music file via the Internet.
Here is a link to the Youtube video for the song here.

Excited children
Playing in the sand
Running and laughing
Buckets in their hands
Their parents smile
Hope for a while
That this moment will never pass
They know that summer
Even long summer
They know that summer will never last
Beautiful garden
So green in the sun
Old woman weeding
Knows the day is done
Her trowel is digging
Her heart is singing
Even as shadows creep on past
She knows that summer
Even long summer
She knows that summer will never last
We were young lovers
Hid behind the dunes
Time seemed to stand still
When we met in June
August is fading
Seasons are changing
Who knew that life went by so fast
We know that summer
Even long summer
We know that summer will never last
Will never last
Will never last
