Who Paid For the "Slightly Smarmy" Political Poll?
State Senator Catherine Pugh said she did not pay for the negative poll.
State Senator Catherine Pugh (D-40) said she did not pay for the telephone poll that Joan Jacobson, the Baltimore Brew reporter, termed "slightly smarmy".
When asked in an email if she or her campaign paid for the poll, Pugh said, "of course not".
Pugh has not announced her candidacy for mayor of Baltimore, but rumors persist that she may run.

Jacobson launched what she called a "Baltimore political who-done-it" after she became interested in finding out who paid for the telephone poll she considered a "ruse".
As reported in the on Thursday, mayoral candidate Jody Landers said his campaign did not pay for the poll either.
