Brightview Hosts Dementia Expert for Dementia Seminar

Free educational seminar for families, friends and caregivers about improving interactions with family members with dementia.

Brightview White Marsh, a senior living community in Baltimore Maryland, will host dementia expert Dr. Patrick Doyle, PhD for an educational seminar, titled Tips for Improving Interactions with Family Members with Dementia.

The free seminar for families, friends and caregivers will be held on Monday, May 23 at 6:00pm at the community – located at 8100 Rossville Boulevard.

A skilled and experienced researcher and educator in the field of gerontology and dementia care, Dr. Doyle will discuss the affects dementia has on family members, family relationships and interactions. In addition, he will offer communication tips to better connect with family members and friends living with dementia and other forms of memory impairments.

Brightview’s Corporate Director of Dementia Care Services, Dr. Doyle is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).

“We value our role as a resource in the community,” explains Executive Director Kevin Knauff. “Sharing Dr. Doyle’s expertise and knowledge with the community – older adults, families, caregivers and others – is important to us.”
