As readers of my court watch reports may be aware, on July 11, my wife Janet Wright was hit by a motor coach which was making a left turn while we were crossing St. Paul St. in the crosswalk on the south side of Fayette St. Janet was thrown to the ground and lay there in pain a short distance from where the bus came to a stop (it must have been braking when Janet was hit). We were taken to Shock Trauma, and Janet was sent home after about 6 hours.
While I am very hopeful that Janet will recover fully, she still is in a great deal of pain and is still taking a great deal of pain medication. Her recovery is likely to take quite a while, and I am very reluctant to leave her alone.
Therefore, until Janet has recovered a lot more, I will not be attending and reporting on court cases.
At the same time, if anyone wants help following a case from the online court records, I will be glad to be of assistance.
One update. Markell Shelton Jones, who was sentenced to life with all but 50 years suspended for the murder on October 31, 2011 of Freddie Jones (no relation) at Yau Brothers Chinese carryout at 2901 Greenmount, is currently at the Maryland Correctional Institution -- Hagerstown. When he was sentenced, Judge Brooke Murdock said that she was recommending that he be assigned to a youthful offender program at Jessup,
