All cats at the location will be up for adoption through the Baltimore Humane Society. The first cats to take up residence in the cat cafe will be Scamp, Frankie, Tiny, Paris, Star, Salem and Night.
"We are very excited about this partnership with Charm Kitty Café," Baltimore Humane Society Executive Director Christine DeCorse said in a statement. The Baltimore Humane Society, headquartered in Reisterstown, is a no-kill shelter.
Said DeCorse: "We can now save even more cats and kittens with the addition of housing for adoptable felines at the café."
Anyone interested in adopting the cats may apply at the cafe; an adoption counselor will call and process the application. The Baltimore Humane Society will have on-site adoptions on various days.
The concept for Charm Kitty Cafe started with a Kickstarter campaign.
Charm Kitty Café is located in Whitehall Mill at 3300 Clipper Mill Road in Baltimore. Guests must be at least 7 years old. There are no walk-ins; people must make a reservation in advance with a credit card, as the location is cashless. The grand opening is slated for Saturday, Sept. 30.
