Coming to Port Discovery Children’s Museum this May; Let curiosity be your guide in visiting exhibit Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!

Baltimore – (April 25, 2014) – Port Discovery Children’s Museum has released its schedule of special events and programs for May 2014. Highlights include Healthy First Saturday on May 3, the opening of new visiting exhibit Curious George: Let’s Get Curious on May 17 and Asian Pacific Heritage Celebration on May 24.

Museum Hours  

October through May 25

Tuesday through Friday:

9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm

Sunday: 12 pm - 5 pm

Closed Monday except during select public school holidays.

Summer Hours Begin May 26!

Memorial Day through Labor Day
Monday - Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday: 12 pm - 5pm

The Museum will be closed to the public on Wednesday, May 21st for our Annual Museum fundraiser Play It Forward.

New Visiting Exhibit

Curious George: Let’s Get Curious

Opens May 17

Learn and play like Curious George through eight hands-on exhibit features including The Apartment Building, Construction Site, City Park, and the Space Rocket. Locally sponsored by: M&T Bank and Pandora

Get Kinderfit! with the Kindersinger, make a healthy snack in Cook and Tell, take a creative movement class, and more!

 

Littles’ Day: May 10

Join us for a special day dedicated to children 5 and under featuring performances from Kindersinger, Chapel Hill Sensations, Bubbles The Clown, a moon bounce and more!

 

Thrifty Tuesdays and Thursdays

·       Enjoy a discount admission of $8 from 1 pm - 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 22.  Harbor Park Garage offers $7 Roof Top only parking on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm - 5 pm, through May 22. Please pick up a follow up validation at the Museum box office.

 

Target $2 Family Fun Night: May 16

·       Join us on the third Friday of each month! General admission is only two dollars per person from 4 pm – 8 pm at the door.

 

Book Bonanza: May 17

Celebrate Children’s Book Week at Port Discovery’s first Book Bonanza.
Participate in unique storytimes, meet authors, visit the Book Buggy, and receive free books!

 

Play It Forward: May 21

Join us for a fun-filled, grown-ups only party that supports Port Discovery’s education and outreach programs. Enjoy fabulous food, engaging activities, and the Curious George: Let’s Get Curious exhibit as we honor Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Torrey Smith with the Great Friend to Kids Award!

Asian Pacific Heritage Celebration: May 24

·       Join us for special programs that celebrate Asian Pacific heritage including performances from New Moon Theater, Misako Ballet and more!

 

Weekly Events:

Family Fun Fridays: May 2, May 9, May 23, May 30

·       Pop Up Science, Circle Time, Exploration Station, Tot Trails (for children ages birth through three years), Mother Goose on the Loose, and Jingle Jangle Music Time are all options to make this Friday fantastic.
