What were your thoughts when you learned about Councilman Curran filing for personal bankruptcy protection? Do you trust him handling the people's money?
When I first learned of the long time Baltimore City councilman, Robert W. Curran filing for bankruptcy protection, I was a bit shocked and surprised. Curran is a member of one of Maryland's most prominent, well connected political clans. You just don't typically picture people like this going broke.
After getting past the initial disbelief, I couldn't help but consider the implications, if any, of an established, seasoned, mature legislator, struggling to keep his finances straight. All while being part of government that continues to cry lack of revenue, who's spending habits have been questionable at best, downright despicable and potentially fraudulent at worst.
Can A Bankrupt Councilman Be Trusted By A City Facing Fiscal Woes?
I've shared some thoughts, while soliciting your input on this matter. The purpose isn't to take a shot at the councilman or engage in any form of gutter politics. It just seemed an issue worthy of public discussion by the politically aware.
