Dance Theatre of Harlem Performance

The world-renowned Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) performs live at Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University.

The performance is co-presented with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, in conjunction with its current exhibition Dance Theatre of Harlem: 40 Years of Firsts. The performance is the company’s only Mid-Atlantic appearance for 2015.

Founded in 1969 by Arthur Miller, the first African American dancer to join a major ballet company (the New York City Ballet), DTH has continuously offered a fresh perspective to the world of classical ballet, introducing elements such as Afro-Caribbean dance and music of Otis Redding to their performances. The June 20th performance features “Coming Together,” a new addition to the company’s repertoire, by distinguished choreographer Nacho Duato.
