EBA ENGINEERING HIRES BERNARDO

EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) has hired Ray Z. Bernardo, PE to serve as Transportation Project Manager.

Bernardo brings more than 15 years of experience as a Highway Project Manager and Project Engineer to EBA. Through his experience in the Mid-Atlantic region providing concept design, layout and detailing for various transportation projects, Ray developed an extensive knowledge of roadway design that allows him to assume a leadership role in EBA’s Transportation Engineering Department.

Mr. Bernardo has built a reputation of meeting client’s expectations and needs by understanding project goals and priorities, identifying potential issues to meeting those goals, coordinating with and directing team members, and utilizing his expertise with Roadway Design and Modelling software to develop a solution that best fits the project. “We are excited to have someone with that kind of extensive experience and a strong reputation for mentoring both clients and co-workers join the EBA team,” says EBA President Rizwan Siddiqi, PE.

A graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in civil and environmental engineering, Bernardo is a registered PE in Maryland and Delaware. His past responsibilities include developing preliminary and final design contract documents, special provisions, construction cost estimates, and shop drawing reviews for freeways, major and minor collectors, local roads, and roundabouts in accordance with AASHTO, FHWA, SHA, county, and city policies. He also has significant experience in stream restoration, site design, noise abatement barriers and hydrology.

Bernardo’s more recent projects include downtown Baltimore infrastructure improvements tied to the design of the Baltimore City Grand Prix Race Course; Maryland’s Intercounty Connector stream restoration; and Route 54 mainline improvements from Selbyvillle and Fenwick Island in Sussex County, Delaware. He has also served as an on-site consultant in the Office of Project Planning and Environmental Project Management, Maryland State Highway Administration.
