Dear Baltimoreans,
As we prepare to enjoy the Fourth of July, please remind your friends, family and neighbors about the dangers of engaging in celebratory gunfire to ring in the holiday.
We all have special traditions associated with Independence Day, but celebratory gunfire, which remains a problem in cities across the country, should not be one of them.

Bullets fired in the air in celebration will eventually land and could unfortunately result in significant injury or death to any bystanders. In the City of Baltimore it is a crime to unlawfully discharge a firearm.
Whether you're attending a barbeque, relaxing at home or attending the fireworks show at the Inner Harbor, please remember to enjoy the holiday responsibly and remind others to do the same.
