44th Annual Market Day at Cylburn Arboretum

Purchase great plants, invest in some garden art, enjoy some fabulous food, or simply enjoy a spring day in the park!  Whether you are a nature lover or a master gardener, there is something for everyone at the 44th Annual Market Day event set to take place at Cylburn Arboretum on Saturday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  A fundraiser for the Cylburn Arboretum Association, Market Day is free and open to the public and is a rain or shine event. For more information, call 410-367-2217 or log onto www.cylburn.org/marketday2012/market-day

Plants available for sale at the Preview Party as well as at Market Day include natives, perennials, shrubs, herbs, vegetables, annuals and roses, among others.   Many of the plants are grown on-site by the Cylburn Arboretum Association and Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks Horticulture Division while others come from area garden clubs, specialty growers and non-profits such as the UME Baltimore City Master Gardeners.

In addition to plant sales, there will be garden themed vendors, artists and retailers as well as food for sale by Souper Freak, The Haute Dog Carte and Black Sauce Kitchen.  There will also be a used book sale and a Maypole Dance by the Waldorf School.  Families can enjoy walking on nearby trails or can take a self-guided cell phone tour.
