Robert E. Lee Park Nature Council is hosting a day of festivities to celebrate the re-opening and renewal of Robert E. Lee Park on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature a day of recreational and children’s events spanning from walking, bike and boat tours to art activities and music and entertainment by local school groups.
The 453-acre Robert E. Lee Park includes an extensive trail system that surrounds Lake Roland. Baltimore County Recreation and Parks recently completed major repairs and additions to the park, including a new pedestrian bridge, boardwalk from the MTA Light Rail lot at Falls Road, a new parking area at the end of Lakeside Drive and an enclosed Paw Point dog park.
The Park is a popular spot for picnicking, hiking and dog walking for residents living in the Lake Falls, Mount Washington, Murray Hill, Poplar Hill, Roland Park, Ruxton, and Woodbrook neighborhoods.
