Framin Place Pictures a World Without Cancer

Owner Alan Bertaux encourages local business to support American Cancer Society to help save more lives and fund cancer research

Framin Place, a fixture in Mt. Washington's beautiful historic mill area, dedicated a percentage of its November sales to support the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Owner Alan Bertaux, whose family has been hit by cancer, is devoted to the cause and recommends that other community members make a resolution for 2020 to help fight cancer through the American Cancer Society, which is the largest non-profit funder of cancer research outside the federal government. He says, "I encourage other businesses to fundraise for the American Cancer Society because cancer is the number one health problem in terms of people, caregivers and families when it strikes." Thank you Alan and Framin Place manager Mark Thompson for supporting the Society's mission to attack cancer from all angles. Cristal Willis, ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Baltimore community development manager, gratefully accepted the donation. Framin Place has been recognized as one of Baltimore's Best by Baltimore magazine for many years. Thompson, who is also an accomplished artist, has paintings on display at Framin Place, located at 1350 Smith Avenue in Baltimore. www.framin.com.
