Its hard times in Baltimore when the early summer months peak with hot, humid weather. Only the early riser gets the cool air. The circulation of the fans in these old row homes defeats any purposes and school is out!
The minimal break created is the rain. (However looks like we have a more of a hiatus at the moment.)It keeps the raids of children from running across open streets, and it strikes the stench of the bay away. Its not a summer if the bay has not caste over with a green film and the smell of rotting goodness.
Its amazing the humidity here nearly stifles Houston on a good day. So ladies pull your hair back, skip the the leggings and keep cool. Gentlemen do not wear those heavy wool sports coats. It is so worth investing in linen or cotton. Keep your children occupied, and please hydrated!
Just know when the day ends, Baltimore always redeems itself. A cold beer is never in short supply with the many venues to enjoy happy hour, and there is no time like to the summer to feast on the crabs of the BAY! No place else has a blue crab the way Baltimore does.
As the holiday approaches, be safe, be hydrated and learn something about Baltimore. It is what keeps this Love/Hate balanced!
