I-83 Clears After Vehicle Overturns Near Coldspring Lane

An overturned vehicle Tuesday afternoon caused slowdowns on I-83 in Baltimore City for approximately 45 minutes and may continue to cause delays.

Shortly after 3:15 p.m., the Baltimore Office of Emergency Management reported that a vehicle had overturned on the expressway before Northern Parkway and all northbound lanes would be closed at Coldspring.

The crash occurred on I-83 north past the Coldspring Lane exit, according to the report.

By 4 p.m., all lanes had cleared, and traffic cameras showed traffic flowing through the area.

However, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation reported that the traffic impact was severe. According to WBAL, I-83 was backed up to Penn Station at approximately 4 p.m.

Previously, traffic had been backed up to the Falls Road exit, according to Fox 45, because the two right lanes were reportedly blocked near the crash.
