Junior Achievement’s “Critical Conversations for Peak Performance” Management Seminar
Junior Achievement of Central Maryland (JACMD) will kick off its Quarterly Leadership Development Series in collaboration with Sandler Training with a hands-on seminar to help managers effectively communicate with employees.
The non-profit will host Critical Conversations for Peak Performance: How to Communicate and Resolve Tough Issues While Building Relationships with Chris McDonell, Wednesday, Apr. 23, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., at its Owings Mills headquarters (10711 Red Run Blvd., Ste. 110).
With more than 24 years of experience in sales and executive leadership, McDonell helps to establish national training platforms to lead teams towards success in sales and leadership development. He is the president of McDonell Consulting & Development, Inc., a licensed Sandler Training center based in Towson.

This seminar will explore how to effectively handle difficult conversations with employees, and how to deliver the message without negativity. Specifically, McDonell will teach how to perform the following techniques:
▪ Identify if the core issue is related to ability or motivation,

▪ Set expectations for exceptional results in a clear, caring, and empowering way,
▪ Keep the emotion out of the equation and find the right balance between being too hard versus too lenient,
▪ Determine proper consequences, follow-up or action steps for both parties, and
▪ Foster a culture of ownership, not blame, by demonstrating how the employees’ actions impact others.
