Katie Kessler Promoted to NKF-MD Senior Development & Marketing Coordinator
She has grown the Foundation's Rappel for Kidney Health and NKF-MD Golf Classic events

LUTHERVILLE, Md. –The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF-MD) has promoted Katie Kessler to senior development and marketing coordinator.
Kessler initially joined NKF-MD in June 2013 as development assistant and was promoted to development coordinator five months later. Since then, she has grown both the Rappel for Kidney Health and NKF-MD Golf Classic fundraising events.
“The 2014 Rappel was our best yet and logistically flawless, and Katie’s ability to cultivate key relationships with key leaders resulted in her securing the 2015 event chair ahead of schedule,” said Christie Vera, NKF-MD’s vice president of development & marketing.

“She also incorporated NKF’s national golf classic model into our tournament, secured sponsorships and successfully moved the event to a new venue,” Vera added.
In addition to overseeing all aspects of the Golf and Rappel events, Kessler will now manage the Foundation’s social media efforts and collaborate with the marketing committee.

“I am excited to continue to work for a national nonprofit organization that allows me to affect community change in a larger capacity while still allowing direct assistance to my local community,” Kessler said.
“As I take on additional roles, my primary goal will be to utilize new experience gained in event management and leadership to develop strategic and long-term plans for the future of the Foundation,” added Kessler, who earned a bachelor’s degree in family studies and community development from Towson University.
