Nyquist Settles In at Pimlico Before Preakness

BALTIMORE, MD – The winner of the Kentucky Derby—Nyquist—planted his hooves on Maryland soil this week.

The Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) shared a photo of the 3-year-old Thoroughbred after his plane landed Monday in Maryland.

Nyquist flew from Louisville, Ky,., to Baltimore, where he arrived after 4 p.m. and traveled with police escort to Pimlico Race Course, the L.A. Times reported.

He will train with an eye on the second jewel in the Triple Crown.

Trainer Jack Sisterson reportedly said that Nyquist would not be working too hard leading up to the race to ensure he is fresh come post time.

The Preakness Stakes will be at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Pimlico Race Course, 5201 Park Heights Avenue.
