KERRY MCMANUS JOINS MARYLAND MANUFACTURING EXTENSION PARTNERSHIP AS DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
MD MEP's New Employee to Manage Development and Delivery of Workforce Initiatives and Programs
Columbia, Md. – The Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MD MEP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing manufacturing in the State of Maryland, announced today that the organization has expanded its team with the addition of a new Director of Workforce & Program Development, Kerry McManus. In this role, McManus will be responsible for managing and overseeing the development and delivery of MD MEP’s workforce initiatives, efforts and programs.
McManus will be responsible for developing pipeline and partner relationships for MD MEP’s workforce initiatives, as well as managing all efforts and candidates involved with MD MEP’s training programs. She will also coordinate and help manage workshops offered by MD MEP and its current partners, clients, sponsors, etc.
“I am excited to join the MD MEP team and lead the organization’s efforts in workforce and program development,” said McManus. “I look forward to strengthening and growing MD MEP’s workforce development programs, while also raising awareness of our services and benefits throughout manufacturers in the Maryland area.”

Prior to joining MD MEP, McManus worked as Special Assistant to former Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) Deputy Secretary Scott Jensen. During her time at DLLR, she led the department’s Stat 2.0 program, served as administrator for the Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) program and held a role as Legislative Detail during the 2013 General Assembly session.
Among other duties, McManus was responsible for managing the priorities of the Office of the Deputy Secretary; working closely and regularly with the Department’s division heads; leading DLLR’s Stat 2.0 program and its efforts to reform its time-keeping system; coordinating meetings and tasks for elected officials; and, handling various administrative tasks.

“We are very excited to add Kerry to the MD MEP team,” said Brian Sweeney, Executive Director of Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership. “Kerry is the right person for this position and her stellar knowledge of manufacturing legislation and experience in the industry will allow us to continue to move forward with our organization’s mission to grow and support manufacturing in the State of Maryland.”
McManus is currently studying at the University of Baltimore, working to earn a Master’s in Administration/Policy. She resides in Annapolis, Md.
