Keswick Announces Outstanding Employee Awards

Employees were recognized at Keswick's Community Celebration

On Thursday, April 27, Keswick, the area’s premier health resource and provider of services for older adults, hosted a Community Celebration to recognize outstanding staff members and thank volunteers.

Keswick’s Board of Directors Outstanding Employee Award was established in 2001 by the Board of Directors to acknowledge service excellence. This annual award recognizes a non-clinical employee whose contributions exemplify the highest standards of service. This year’s recipient of the Board of Directors Outstanding Employee Award was Brenda Dobbins, who is proactive, accurate, timely and thorough in her work and an excellent payroll resource for the entire staff.

The Francis E. Callahan Loving Care Award was established following Mr. Callahan’s 20-year residence at Keswick. The recipients have been chosen by the Keswick community because they make an extraordinary effort to engage with the residents as caring human beings, not just as physical caregivers. The 2017 co-recipients of the Francis E. Callahan Employee Award were GNAs Latasha Hunter and Emma Lloyd.

The Francis Robinson Baker Outstanding Employee Award was established by Mrs. Baker’s family on her 100th birthday in May 1999. A 1924 graduate from the Hopkins School of Nursing, Mrs. Baker was known as a staunch advocate for the highest standards of patient care. The 2017 recipient of the Frances Robinson Baker Outstanding Award was Alice Kebbeh Jackson, an outstanding, caring nurse who represents what nursing should be all about — person-centered care that is loving and compassionate. In addition, Jackson always takes on additional duties or projects to help the residents, patients or her team members on the unit.

During Keswick’s Community Celebration, Keswick also introduced plans for its new Center for Healthy Living. The Center for Healthy Living will be housed at the Bauernschmidt Building on Keswick’s campus, located in the Roland Park/Hampden area. The renovation of the building is currently in the design phase and will include more than 10,000 square feet of health and wellness space and also house some of Keswick’s administrative offices.
