5 Reportedly Injured in Light Rail Crash
First responders had to rescue people who were trapped in car-light rail collision, Baltimore Office of Emergency Management reported.
Several people were trapped after a light rail and car collided Wednesday morning, according to the Baltimore Office of Emergency Management.
Before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, rescuers worked to free the trapped individuals from the crash near the Convention Center Station, according to emergency management officials.
Five people were taken to local hospitals, according to WBAL, which reported three people in the vehicle and two on the light rail were injured. The crash happened when the car made a left turn from Howard onto Camden Street “into the path of the light rail,” the TV station reported.

Howard Street was temporarily blocked southbound between Pratt and Camden, with traffic detoured onto Pratt Street, according to transportation officials.
Light rail traffic was stopped for a period and by 1 p.m. was operating with delays, the Maryland Transit Administration reported.
