Loch Raven VA Outpatient Clinic is Evacuated

The fire department and BGE were called to the scene.

The Loch Raven VA’s outpatient clinic was closed Wednesday afternoon because a gas line was struck, according to a statement from the VA Maryland Health Care System.

Patients and employees were evacuated and moved from the outpatient clinic on The Alameda to the Loch Raven VA Community Living and Rehabilitation Center in the 3900 block of Loch Raven Boulevard.

Due to a gas line being nicked on the Loch Raven VA Campus, the Loch Raven VA Outpatient Clinic (including Audiology & Radiology) and the Loch Raven VA Robotics and Rehabilitation Center have been evacuated and the fire department and BGE are on site to address the issue. Displaced patients and employees from the Loch Raven VA Outpatient Clinic and the Loch Raven VA Robotics and Rehabilitation Center are being offered refuge in the new addition of the Loch Raven VA Community Living & Rehabilitation Center (i.e. lobby and multipurpose room).

We are waiting for information from the fire department and BGE as to when patients and employees will be able to return to impacted facilities on the Loch Raven VA Campus. We will provide an update as soon as we receive additional information from the fire department and BGE.
