Calling all pet lovers! The Maryland SPCA will be holding an Open House for prospective pet foster-care volunteers on Saturday, May 10 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how fostering needy pets can help save pets’ lives; meet current foster parents and the animals they care for; learn how to set up their homes to make fostering work for them; and receive a tour of the MD SPCA.
Maryland SPCA foster-care volunteers provide temporary care for kittens, puppies, dogs and cats. Depending on the reason for foster care, some animals may only need to be in foster care for several days, while others may need several weeks of care as is the case for a pet with a broken bone. The MD SPCA provides training and supplies to their foster parents and carefully matches animals with foster parents based on the animals’ needs and the foster parents’ abilities.
