MCVET Hosting Veterans Day Virtual Run & Walk

Signature event to help veterans overcome homelessness, addiction and unemployment

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training, Inc. (MCVET) – the nation’s premier program for helping homeless veterans and veterans in need heal and achieve independence, self-sufficiency and permanent housing – invites the community to commemorate Veterans Day in a meaningful way.

The nonprofit’s 25th Annual 5K/10K signature fundraiser will be transformed into a virtual event to coincide with the national holiday. Runners and walkers can operate at their own pace – outside or on a treadmill – alone or with a group of friends, from Nov. 4 through 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 11 (Veterans Day) to complete 3.1 miles for the 5K or 6.2 miles for the 10K.

“By having a virtual 5K/10K on Veterans Day, we hope to attract runners and walkers from all over Maryland and beyond not only to support our homeless veterans, but to thank all veterans, who MCVET considers to be our nation’s true heroes,” said MCVET Executive Director Jeffery L. Kendrick.
