Mulberry Madness Promotes Awareness of Free for Picking Fruit in the City!

Members of the Baltimore Orchard Project will host harvesting events and donate locally grown mulberries to participating Hampden venues.

Local non-profit Baltimore Orchard Project, a program of Civic Works, is launching Mulberry Madness this June to promote the awareness and health benefits of mulberries and other fruits that are free for picking in Baltimore! Many people don’t know about the plentiful mulberry trees that can reduce food waste and improve our planet.

The community is invited to participate in a group mulberry harvest led by Baltimore Orchard Project members on Thursday, June 11 at 5:30pm. People are asked to meet at the Pagoda in Patterson Park (near 132 S Patterson Park Ave, Baltimore, MD 21231).

Another learning event will be held at the Corner Charcuterie Bar (850 W 36th St Baltimore, MD 21211) on Tuesday, June 23 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. All are welcome to come enjoy a mulberry beverage, learn fast facts about mulberries and take home a free cutting to start a tree.
