Music School Rocks its Way into Gambrills
School of Rock Franchise Proves Rock and Roll is Here to Stay with New Location

Gambrills, MD – School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, announced that it will be hosting a grand opening celebration for its new Gambrills location on September 6, 2014 at 1041 Route 3 North, Suite 10 in Gambrills, MD.
School of Rock gets kids and adults rocking out to the classics, and on stage performing with their peers. Its programs are designed to create a supportive environment where music students of all skill levels are comfortable, yet challenged. In addition to individual music instruction on guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards and/or drums, students learn how to jam with their peers in group sessions. The team dynamic encourages focus and discipline, and gives each student the confidence to rock on stage and in life.
The new Gambrills School of Rock location is owned and operated by multi-unit franchise owner Nick Borgeson. When he first learned about School of Rock, Borgeson was drawn to its performance-based approach, which he found to be the perfect way to inspire and build confidence in kids. In 2011, Borgeson opened the School of Rock Annapolis, which has seen booming success and was recognized as the 2014 Capital Readers Choice for Best Local Music School. For Borgeson, one of the most rewarding aspects of the business has been watching students excel through the School of Rock programs. As a resident of Crofton, Borgeson wanted to have the same positive impact on kids in his own community.

“It’s been amazing to see the growth in the students,” Borgeson said. “It’s incredible to watch kids who come to the School of Rock a little shy or reserved really find themselves on stage.” “Of course,” Borgeson continued, “School of Rock is also an excellent way for kids with a lot of energy and enthusiasm to express themselves.”
School of Rock offers programs for everyone, from ages 2 to 100. All School of Rock programs are performance-based and emphasize that music is not just about playing an instrument; it’s about teamwork, building confidence, and creating leaders. The heart and soul of School of Rock is the Performance Program, which consists of weekly private lessons on an instrument plus a weekly three-hour band rehearsal to prepare for a quarterly performance. Students at the School of Rock Annapolis have performed “The Rolling Stones,” “Women that Rock,” “The Talking Heads” and “Night at the Movies,” to name a few, live and on stage at The Whiskey and Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge. Another popular School of Rock program, Little Wing, is a preschool program that teaches toddlers the joy of music through songs beloved by generations.

“School of Rock is more than just a music school; it’s a chance for kids to form a community, build confidence, make friendships and be recognized for their contributions,” Borgeson said. “My experience with School of Rock has been incredibly rewarding so far, and I can’t wait to find out what’s in store with our new Gambrills location.”
