NKF-MD will announce the winning teams immediately following the competition at a reception featuring casino games, an auction, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
To build excitement for the event, an online auction will take place Sept. 7, at 8 a.m., through Sept. 20, at 11:59 p.m., at www.biddingforgood.com/nkf-md. Some of the items up for bid include a 1-week, oceanfront stay at the Kauai Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach in Hawaii and other travel packages, as well as luxury gifts, sports memorabilia and event tickets.
Funds raised through the auction and NKF Golf Classic will directly support NKF-MD’s patient emergency assistance program, providing essentials such as food, housing aid, utilities, medication and transportation to dialysis. Proceeds also will support vital research at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland. Since the tournament’s start in 1990, more than 2,000 golfers have teed off, raising almost $2 million for NKF-MD.
The NKF Golf Classic registration package includes greens & cart fees, a boxed lunch, on-course contests, the reception and premium golfer gifts. To register or receive more information to sponsor or participate in the event, visit www.kidneymd.org or call 443.322.0374.
