Parkton, MD PMC Kids Ride
Many kids, many bikes, one mission-cure cancer w/ donations to the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Pan-Mass Challenge
On Sunday, August 16, 2015 the eighth annual Parkton, PMC Kids Ride is returning to the beautiful North Central Rail Trail, (NCR Trail). The past seven years have been an awesome success due to the support and participation of our friends and their families. In 2007 I joined Ian in volunteering along the Massachusetts 192 mile route. In 2008, we organized the first 14 mile, Parkton - PMC Kids Ride, in honor and memory of our friend Joseph who lost his battle with neuroblastoma in 2005. We hope with our effort no one else will know the loss of a friend or family member.
The Pan-Mass Challenge is a 192 mile bike ride across the state of Massachusetts to raise money for cancer research and treatment. Over 5,000 people participate in Massachusetts. Most of us can not travel to Massachusetts to ride, but we can have our own Kids Rides here in Maryland. Over the past seven years the Parkton Kids Ride has raised over $35,000. We are looking forward to another significant contribution in 2015. This year we are hoping for 100 riders and over $10,000 raised for cancer research and treatment!!!
Please join us for the eighth annual Parkton–PMC Kids Ride on August 16, 2015. We will have more events in store this year, more sponsors and a lot more great raffle items. We will host our annual barbecue for those who complete the ride. The PMC has special recognition again this year for kids who earn Heavy Hitters status (raise over $250). You will receive a PMC draw string sack and certificate. Kids who fund raise over $750 will receive a backpack. Ask your friends to join us and we will have fun helping others and maybe those we love.

- Easy 7 or 14-mile round trip on NCR Trail
- Registration fee: $10
- Mandatory fundraising minimum: $25, suggested minimum: $30
