Presbyterian Home of Maryland Honors Veterans with Pinning Ceremony

Sixteen veteran residents of the Presbyterian Home of Maryland were honored at a special ceremony for family, friends and the community.

On Tuesday, October 28th, the Presbyterian Home of Maryland honored 16 of its residents who served in the U.S. armed forces with a special pinning ceremony and luncheon. Family and friends of the honorees, along with other members of the community, were in attendance.

Each of the honorees received a commemorative pin as a tribute to their service to our country. All branches of the service were represented among our 16 residents—including several ladies who served as nurses and one who worked in the Navy yard in Charleston, South Carolina. Several of our male veterans served our country during World War II.

The ceremony included the Pledge of Allegiance, a Veteran’s Blessing and official flag pinning with the Hospice-Veterans Partnership pin. The ceremony provided touching moments and lasting memories for our residents and their families. Susan Shea, PHM President & CEO, remarked, “It is an honor and privilege to know and support the brave, selfless individuals who served in the armed forces and have chosen to call PHM their home. We owe each of them our gratitude and it is our pleasure to celebrate and commemorate their service today.”
