The North Elk Coffee House Presents Singer/Songwriter Lisa Brigantino

Award-winning singer-songwriter/composer/multi-instrumentalist Lisa Brigantino will be performing two sets of her original songs with special guest, her sister Lori Brigantino, at The North Elk Coffee House on Saturday, May 17, 2014 starting at 7:30pm.  Lisa is an engaging performer whose original music spanning groove, genre and topic earned her seventh place on Indie-Music's Top 25 list of 2012 and most recently Musicpage.com's Featured Artist of the Month for January 2014.

Brigantino's latest CD "Wonder Wheel" is an eclectic collection of thirteen songs ranging from Folk and Blues to Rock, Old-Time, Americana, Pop and more and was recorded and produced by Brigantino and husband Tomi Millioto in their Brooklyn studio.  The album contains 13 tracks all written and performed by Brigantino with guest performances by Tomi Millioto, Lori Brigantino, Susan Haefner and Jerry Snee. With most of the instruments played by Brigantino, the arrangements show off her versatility as an artist ranging from mellow vocals and finger picked acoustic guitar to full blown rocking band arrangements with Brigantino deftly handling electric guitars, bass, keyboards and more.

“Wonder Wheel” has received international airplay and terrific reviews including a “Five Star Review” and "Pick Of The Week" from Indie Music Critic and MuzikReviews.  Women of Substance Radio says  "Lisa is one of the most versatile songwriters we've heard. She is a true artist who has mastered countless styles of writing, singing and performing. This New Yorker moves effortlessly from a sensitive acoustic ballad to an in-your-face bluesy romp without skipping a beat."   Blog Critics says  "Lisa Brigantino is what you'd call a complete musician—a superb multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter.  Brigantino brings to her songwriting that real sense of melody that so many putative writers lack." KRUU-FM says "Lisa’s voice moves fluidly from style to style, earthy on the blues and rocker songs, liquid sweet on the acoustic and pop tunes."  A number of the songs from "Wonder Wheel" have had placements in film, TV and web series. Brigantino has been touring in support of the album including making appearances at The Florida Music Festival, Folk Alliance International, The Black Potatoe Festival and The Pleasantville Music Festival.  She is currently recording her next CD with an anticipated release of late 2014.

Lisa frequently performs with her sister Lori Brigantino, who sings and plays a number of different instruments and whose vocals can be heard on "Wonder Wheel" and Lisa's first solo album, "A Brooklyn Night."  Lori is also a trained actor with Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, TV & film credits in NYC.  In addition, Lisa and Lori have a wacky musical-comedy act called “The Vickie & Nickie Show.” where they play a singing housewife sister duo from Minnesota who entertain their audiences with family stories and fun original tunes, hilarious pop song interpretations, improv and audience participation all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments.

A trained composer with a Master of Music in music composition and music theory from SUNY Fredonia, Brigantino also writes for film, TV and more.  Brigantino was also an original member of Lez Zeppelin, the world's first all girl, Led Zeppelin tribute band and played bass, bass pedals, keys and mandolin as well as sang backing vocals.  She toured internationally with the band for a number of years performing at A list venues and festivals around the world, including headlining Bonnaroo.  The band's debut CD was released in 2007 produced and recorded by the legendary Eddie Kramer.  Brigantino left Lez Zeppelin in 2009 to focus on writing and performing her original material.
