Traffic Alert: Funeral Procession for Fallen Baltimore City Firefighter
Police released route for Thursday's funeral procession for Lt. James Bethea.

The funeral service for Baltimore City Fire Lieutenant James Bethea, who died last week in the line of duty, will be held Thursday—and Baltimore County drivers should expect traffic, officials said.
“The funeral is expected to draw a large number of people,” Baltimore County public safety officials said in a statement. “Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the procession route.”
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 5200 North Charles Street, in Baltimore.

The procession is expected to begin between 12:30 and 1 p.m. from the cathedral to the cemetery at 200 East Padonia Road in Timonium, according to the statement.
The procession will travel along the following route from the cathedral to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, where Bethea will be laid to rest:

- Left on Northern Parkway
- North on the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83)
- East on I-695
- North on the Harrisburg Expressway (I-83)
- East on Padonia Road to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens
Visitation for Lt. James Bethea is from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Wylie Funeral Home, 701 North Mount Street, in Baltimore. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen at 5200 North Charles Street in Baltimore.
