Traffic Alert: Obama in Baltimore

President Barack Obama will be near Remington, Camden Yards on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Since President Barack Obama will be in Baltimore Thursday, authorities said drivers should expect delays.

Obama will be in town from 1 to 4:30 p.m., so travelers should try to find an alternative to driving if they are planning on being downtown between 1 and 6 p.m., according to ABC 2 News, which said the President will be at the Hilton in Baltimore for the majority of the visit.

His helicopter touched down near Key Highway at 12:48 p.m., according to WJZ.

On the President’s agenda is a working women’s roundtable, USA Today reports.

The lunch is being held at Charmington’s on Howard at 26th streets, and a motorcade including Sen. Barbara Mikulski traveled with him there from the helicopter, according to WJZ.

From approximately 1 to 1:10 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority held traffic at the Fort McHenry Tunnel.

At 2:30 p.m., the President will meet with Democratic Senators at the Senate Democratic Issues Conference at the Hilton near Camden Yards, according to his agenda, which states he will leave Baltimore at 4:40 p.m.

During his visit, Obama is expected to unveil a $2.2 billion proposal to help cities and states develop programs granting workers paid leave, according to CNN.

In addition, the President will sign a binding order granting federal workers at least six weeks of paid leave after a child is born or adopted, according to the Wall Street Journal.

According to the White House, Obama must be home by 7 p.m., when he’s meeting with Vice President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Cameron for a working dinner.
