A police-involved shooting has reportedly closed an area downtown Friday afternoon around the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
Greene Street was closed from Lombard Street to Camden Yards due to police activity, according to university officials.
Baltimore Police told ABC 2 News that an officer-involved shooting was the cause of the closure.

According to Fox 45, a University of Maryland Baltimore officer shot a man on Russell Street after an incident that began at the University of Maryland Hospital.
The person shot was suspected in a stabbing, WJZ reported.

He was listed in fair condition at an area hospital, according to WBAL, which reported the shooting occurred at 1 p.m. off campus.
After 4 p.m., Baltimore City’s Department of Transportation advised drivers to use alternate routes this afternoon, as Greene Street was closed in the area between Lombard and Camden Yards.
