Two Baltimore High Schools Dismiss Early Thursday
Students got out ahead of schedule and a hearing planned for Thursday has been canceled, city officials report.

Utility issues caused two Baltimore high schools to close early on Thursday, according to Baltimore City Schools.
Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (aka “Poly”) and Western High School dismissed ahead of schedule because of a water main break in the neighborhood, the school system reported. Poly let out at 1:15 p.m.
The water main break occurred at Grandview Avenue, near the intersection of West Coldspring Lane and Falls Road, according to Baltimore’s Department of Public Works.

Traffic was moderately impacted in the area, the Baltimore Department of Transportation reported before 2 p.m.
In addition to school activities, a public hearing was canceled because of the utility problem.

Baltimore City officials announced that Thursday’s “Transform Baltimore” hearing was canceled because of a water main break at Poly.
There are several other upcoming “Transform Baltimore” hearings, which concern proposed zoning changes: Oct. 13 at Morgan State, Oct. 15 at Digital Harbor and Oct. 21 at Southeast Anchor Library.
