William J. Hufnell Joins ECAN Board
Veteran Wealth Manager Shares Mission Connection with the Healthcare Non-Profit
BALTIMORE – ECAN (Esophageal Cancer Action Network) has appointed William J. Hufnell to a three-year term on its board of directors.
“Because I was diagnosed with and treated for Barrett’s esophagus, the precursor to esophageal cancer, I understand the importance of ECAN’s emphasis on early detection,” Hufnell said. “I know firsthand that it can save lives, so it’s my privilege to join the ECAN board.”
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner® (CFP™) with 15 years of extensive wealth management planning experience, Hufnell is the founder and principal at Bay Point Wealth Management, where he serves as lead wealth manager and chief investment officer.

Hufnell previously spent 10 years working for a Fortune 100 corporation in the areas of business planning, corporate retirement plans, employee benefits and compensation, and financial reporting. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in finance from Johns Hopkins University.
In addition to supporting ECAN, Hufnell serves on the boards of the Anne Arundel Library Foundation, Annapolis Estate Planning Council and Financial Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County, as well as the northeast/mid-Atlantic board of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.

A member of the Center Club and the Annapolitan Club, he also is active in the following industry associations: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
