The best way to describe YumBurgers Grill in King Farm Shopping Center is as a hamburger joint with Peruvian attitude.

Since opening in November 2010, YumBurgers Grill offers familiar American fare like burgers, hot dogs, salads, and shakes, then adds to the menu an enticing selection of Latin-inspired food like empanadas, ceviche, and chorizo.

The YumStarters, i.e. appetizers, is where much of the Peruvian fun begins with chili, quesadillas, calamari, empanadas, mussels and octopus. Tempting, too, were the YumShrimp and Grits and the highly recommended YumSweet Tots (sweet potato tots with buttermilk, garlic and parmesan sauce).

Their burgers are all natural, 100 percent certified Angus beef and true to the name, they are “yum.” You can build your own or choose from specialty burgers that include Mexico City YumBurger (guacamole, pico de gallo and pepper Jack cheese), Peruvian YumBurger (onions, tomato, cilantro, yellow peppers, pepper Jack cheese and house salsa) and the Flame-grilled YumBacon Burger (5 oz. bacon, 5 oz. burger, Swiss cheese, fried egg, mushrooms),
