Nationally certified car seat technicians at Fitzgerald's Auto Mall, Fire & Rescue personnel, and Police conduct a free check of the condition and proper installation of child safety seats. The law requires children under the age of eight years old who are under 4' 9'' and less than 65 pounds be secured in a federally-approved and correctly used child restraint system when riding in a motor vehicle. Anyone under the age of 16 must wear a seat belt.
