*Note, this event will officially start at 7:30 p.m., with bus shuttles starting at 7 p.m. Montgomery County officials announced Tuesday that the event will shift by 30 minutes due to the severe heat forecast for the region.
The&nbsp;Montgomery County&nbsp;250th "Shine Together" Independence Day celebration will be held at Albert Einstein High School on July 3, with festivities running from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Attendees can expect live music, with fireworks scheduled to kick off at 9:30 p.m. Organizers say the start time for the fireworks display&nbsp;may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
Food vendors will be on scene and residents are allowed to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers. No pets, alcoholic beverages, or smoking is permitted.
"Sign language interpreter services and other auxiliary aids or services will be provided upon request with as much notice as possible, preferably at least three business days before the event," reads the county announcement.
On-site parking will only be available for individuals with disabilities, but free parking and shuttle service will be available at Westfield Wheaton (11160 Veirs Mill Road) from 6:30 p.m. Signs will be posted for event parking and shuttles.
Officials warn that anyone who parks at the mall before 6:30 p.m. runs the risk of being towed.

July 3rd MoCo 'Shine Together' Fireworks 2026: Kensington 

A 5K race will be hosted in Potomac by the&nbsp;Montgomery County Road Runners Club on July 4, 2026, at 8 a.m.
"Start your Independence Day celebration by running or walking this popular, long-standing Potomac course in celebration of liberty, courage, and togetherness," reads the announcement.
"Parking is located at the Potomac Presbyterian Church (10301 River Road), which is a short walk to the start/finish. All finishers will receive a commemorative cooling towel."
Bib/chip pickup runs from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., with an opening ceremony scheduled for 7:30 a.m.
The race officially gets underway at 8 a.m., and MCRRC organizers say that any participant arriving more than seven minutes late may not be allowed to start due to compliance with road closures.
Registration for the event comes with a $27 fee.

Rockville will host its "Independence Day Celebration" fireworks display at the Mattie J.T. Stephanek Park on July 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Live music by Run for Cover will start at 7 p.m., followed by a greeting from city representatives at 8:30 p.m. The National Anthem will be played by the Victorian Lyric Opera Company at 8:55 p.m.
The 20-minute fireworks display kicks off at 9:15 p.m.
Residents are allowed to bring beach chairs or blankets, but they are not allowed to be placed within 100 feet of the stage.Safety guidelines list that none of the following items are permitted:<ul><li>Tents, outside alcohol, wheeled recreational devices, noisemakers, glass containers, drones, laser pointers, weapons, illegal substances, explosives, and no throwing footballs, flying discs, baseball or other projectiles.</li></ul>While service animals are allowed on the grounds, attendees are discouraged from bringing their pets.Amenities include: food and beverage vendors, restrooms — including ADA-accessible units, an ADA viewing platform, first aid and bike parking.Free parking will be available in lots along Shady Grove and Gaither roads and Piccard Drive."Attendees are encouraged to use Route 355, Gude Drive, and Shady Grove Road to access these parking lots. Once near the event site, follow event signage, not your GPS," reads the event announcement.
"Accessible parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at 2012 Gaither Road for vehicles with a placard or plate. Access this lot via Shady Grove Road or Gaither Road. Display your placard upon arrival."

*Note, this event will officially start at 7:30 p.m., with bus shuttles starting at 7 p.m. Montgomery County officials announced Tuesday that the event will shift by 30 minutes due to the severe heat forecast for the region.Officials host the annual "Germantown Glory" fireworks display at the South Germantown Recreational Park in Boyds from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The celebration will include live music featuring the Central City Orchestra. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m., unless weather conditions prompt a delay. 
County organizers say lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are welcome, and that food vendors will be at the location.
No pets, alcoholic beverages, or smoking are permitted.

Note: This event has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 5, due to weather conditions.The Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual fireworks celebration on July 5 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Polo Fields in Poolesville. 
Gates open at 5 p.m.
In addition to the fireworks, attendees will be treated to live music and have a selection of food vendors.
The viewing area for the event will be located the intersection of Hughes and Sugarland roads. "If you are unfamiliar with the area, set your GPS to 15598 Hughes Rd, Poolesville, MD 20837," organizers said.
Supported by the UMCVFD, Town of Poolesville, and the Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce, the event is held on privately-owned land and requires a $10 parking fee paid in cash.
"The Firefighter/EMTs are all volunteers donating their time and service to make this event safe and enjoyable for everyone," reads the announcement. "Revenue from parking goes directly back into the 4th of July Fireworks expense fund."
Parking is not allowed along Hughes Road.
Alcoholic beverages, open flames from barbecue grills and candles and pets are not allowed on the grounds. Any coolers brought to the event will be inspected.
