The Great Escape: Square Dancing
Glen Echo Park and the Folklore Society of Greater Washington present an evening of Contra and Square Dancing Feb. 20.
Everyday you dance between work and home, your husband and your kids. It's the constant dance of life and it's not always so graceful.
So in that rare moment that you find some time for yourself, why not do a little dancing just for you?
Glen Echo Park offers a variety of dance classes and dance events each week. Our pick of this week is contra and square dancing on Sunday, Feb. 20.

The Folklore Society of Greater Washington presents the event. According to their website, traditional contra dancing can include square dancing, mixers, waltzes and other couple dances.
No partner is necessary, so you can bring your husband or your girlfriends. If your square dancing experience is marked by middle school birthday parties or that one family reunion ten years ago, it's okay. The night begins with a lesson at 7 p.m.

Of course, once you start moving it might be hard to stop. Luckily the live music and dance calling will continue from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Each week, we’ll tell you about to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.
