1,000 Books Donated to MacArthur Middle School

Blue Star Families, a group that helps military families, gave the books to the students at Fort Meade.

Blue Star Families, an organization that helps military families, has donated 1,000 books to the students of MacArthur Middle School at Fort Meade, according to Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

One of the organization’s primary goals is addressing literacy issues in communities that have a concentration of military children.

Kate Pennington, Rent-A-Center Fellow Operation Honor Corps Manager, says, “We know from studies that they often lag behind their civilian counterparts. We hope your school would be able to gift these books to all students to spark a love of reading.”
