$100K Worth Of Cocaine Seized In Hanover Arrest

Anne Arundel County Police have charged a New Jersey man with drug trafficking and seized cocaine estimated to be worth $100,000.

HANOVER, MD — A New Jersey man faces drug trafficking charges after police seized an estimated $100,000 worth of cocaine. Anne Arundel County Police have charged Tariq Jumah Abdul-Latif, 31, of Hillside, NJ, with drug trafficking last month and released his arrest information on Tuesday.

In September, detectives received a tip that Abdul-Latif was supplying cocaine in the Hanover area of Anne Arundel County. Using that information, detectives located Abdul-Latif on Sept. 25 and conducted a traffic stop in the 7400 block of Windstream Circle in Hanover. Detectives located about 1,027 grams of cocaine and arrested Abdul-Latif.

At a court hearing on Oct. 20, Abdul-Latif was indicted on possession of CDS and drug distribution related charges.

Police spokesman Marc Limansky said the value of cocaine can range from $37,000 to $42,000 per kilogram, but the drug can sell for about $100 per gram on the street.
