11 People Inside Severn House When Shots Fired, No Injuries: Police

A Severn man assault and attempted murder for allegedly shooting into a house full of people Monday night, police say.

SEVERN, MD — Despite a house filled with 11 people, nobody was hit by gunfire when a Severn man allegedly fired into the home, police said.

Anne Arundel County Police received the report of shots fired just after 7 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Tomlinson Court in Severn.

The victim told police a man shot a firearm into a house that was occupied by 11 people. While the structure was damaged, no one was injured.

Officers located a suspect in the area -- Carlyle Emmanuel Brooks III, 25, of 8209 Durness Court in Severn – who was identified as the shooter.

Brooks was arrested and charged with numerous offenses, including: first-degree assault, firearm use/felony violent crime, handgun on person, attempted second-degree murder, concealed dangerous weapon and reckless endangerment.
