2 Shot In Laurel Home Invasion, Suspects Caught With Marijuana: Police

Two men were shot during a Laurel home invasion, say police, but the suspects were caught and charged with attempted murder.

LAUREL, MD — Two armed men who reportedly forced their way into a Laurel house shot two people then fled early Sunday but were soon caught and face numerous charges, including attempted murder, authorities say. Anne Arundel County Police have charged Dangelo Edward Fowler, 23, of Clinton, and Jerron Marquise Berry, 23, of Glen Burnie, in the armed attack.

Police say Fowler and Berry went to a home in the 8100 block of Edge Rock Way about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, knocked on the door of the home and then forced their way inside. The suspects struggled with people inside the house, and two men were shot.

Berry and Fowler fled the scene in a silver vehicle at a high rate of speed with no headlights turned on, police say. Officers stopped the vehicle and found two men matching the descriptions of the suspects; a witness brought to the scene identified the two man as the shooting suspects.

Officials say a large amount of marijuana and cash was seized from the vehicle and suspects. Both Fowler and Berry were arrested and charged with home invasion, attempted murder, assault, handgun charges and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

The shooting victims were taken to Prince George County Trauma Center, where they are listed in stable condition.
