$200 Million Hotel Coming to Maryland Live Casino

Hanover, MD — Maryland's gaming industry is about to get another boost, with the announcement Monday that Maryland Live Casino in Hanover will add a $200 million hotel, spa and event center to the property.

Groundbreaking on the hotel tower is scheduled for fall 2016 with project completion slated for the fourth quarter of 2017. That puts it a year behind the new MGM National Harbor resort set to open in Prince George’s County in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Cordish Companies says the hotel will be located adjacent to Maryland Live! Casino at Arundel Mills and add an additional 350,000-square-feet of space to the facility. A 17-story hotel tower -- which would be the tallest building in Anne Arundel County -- will include 310 luxury guest rooms, an event center, meeting spaces, new dining options, and a day spa/salon.

The construction project is expected to create about 400 new jobs and 550 construction jobs for the region.

The hotel will include:

• A 17-story tower that will be the tallest building in Anne Arundel County
• 310 luxury guestrooms, including 52 Suites, featuring warm wood colors with accents of polished ebony
• Grand Event Center
  • 1,500-seat concert venue
  • Built-in performance Sstage
  • State-of-the-art audio/visual and seating systems
  • Banquet seating capability up to 800
• 24-hour café with options for open kitchen viewing and community seating
• Gelato bar offering expertly crafted espresso, coffee drinks, fresh-baked pastries, and a wide variety of Italian specialty gelato.
• Signature lobby bar with more than 50 seats
• A luxury day spa and salon, including a state-of-the-art fitness center
• About 1,000 additional parking spaces
