3 Departments Called To Severn House Fire

Three fire departments responded to a March 8 house fire in Severn, according to Anne Arundel County fire officials.

SEVERN, MD — Three fire departments responded to a March 8 house fire in Severn, according to Anne Arundel County fire officials. A neighbor reported the blaze in the one-story house just before 5 p.m. at 7992 Quarterfield Road.

Firefighters saw flames coming from the rear of the home. The fire was brought under control in about 25 minutes, although crews remained on the scene further to sort through a large amount of stored materials and investigate a possible cause, the department said on its blog.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters was reported; an estimated damage amount has not been determined. Officials said they don't know if the house had working smoke alarms.

Crews from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Fire & Rescue Department also responded to the fire.
