Check out the list below to prepare yourself for a surprise visit from the relatives.

  1. Historic London Town and Gardens (Edgewater) - A great visit for those looking to discover and learn. The spacious museum and park features worthwhile attractions, such as the William Brown House—or better known as the London Town Publik House—built in 1760. “The tour is interesting, and the garden is beautiful,” Patch reader John McDowell said.
  2. Old Stein Inn (Edgewater) - A Maryland gem. Treat your guests to a traditional German dining experience complete with cold beer, of course.
  3. Chick and Ruth’s (Annapolis)- Between the comfort food and friendly atmosphere, you and your guests will never leave hungry. Patch reader Louise recommends the crab cakes, calling them the best in Annapolis, while Rick Hall suggests the onion rings and a large milk shake. “I have relatives that come up from Florida and they always want to go there. It’s just a fun place,” he added.
  4. Friendship Park (Glen Burnie) – Patch reader Amanda Leonard takes her friends who have kids to Friendship Park. The park is right near Baltimore Washington International Airport giving the kids a front row seat to see the planes landing.
  5. Lure’s Bar and Grill (Crownsville) – Take visitors for fresh food and a friendly experience.
  6. Cantler’s Riverside Inn (Annapolis) - Arrive by boat and enjoy a waterfront dining experience and the freshest seafood around.
  7. Quiet Waters Park (Annapolis) - When the weather is nice out, take your visitors to Quiet Waters Park for a wide range of outdoor activities: walk or bike the picturesque trails, play with the kids on the playground, take pictures at the scenic overlook, or pack a lunch for a family picnic on the green.
  8. U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis)- A worthwhile visit for those who are interested in a naval career or simply want to learn about the fascinating history and tour the beautiful grounds. Be sure your guests catch a glimpse of all the attractions, including the chapel, submarine memorial, the crypt of John Paul Jones.
  9. The Breakfast Shoppe (Severna Park) – Patch reader Dawn Root has one word: “Yum!” With an abundance of options for lunch or dinner, this is one that won’t disappoint for breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day, after all.
  10. Seaside Restaurant (Glen Burnie/Pasadena) – The recently renovated eatery is known for their authentic Maryland crabs and is the perfect way to show your guests how Maryland does seafood.
