ODENTON, MD — The Anne Arundel County Police Department is seeking information on a fatal shooting that happened in Odenton at the start of the year.
The department said it believes community members "may have witnessed the shooting or the events preceding it."
"Detectives followed up on initial information received along with evidence collected from the scene, however, they are actively seeking tips and leads from the public to bring closure to this case and provide closure to the victim's family," reads a release issued by the department.
The shooting took place Jan. 10, when officers responded to the 1600 block of Annapolis Road. At the scene, investigators found Timothy Leslie Randolph, a 45-year-old man from Baltimore, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Based on preliminary findings, investigators believe a collision may have preceded the shooting, and that Randolph was standing near his car — a white Cadillac XT5 SUV — when the shooting happened.
