ODENTON, MD — Starting this week, a new speed camera goes live in Odenton as county officials look to promote safer driving habits around schools.
The new speed camera will be set up on Conway Road, near the Two Rivers Elementary School.
A release issued by the Anne Arundel County Police Department said the camera will be in effect Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Citations will start to be issued following a 15-day warning period. Any individuals driving 12 mph or more over the posted speed limit will be fined.
The county's tiered fines range from $40 to $425. A breakdown of the dollar amount is listed below:
As the fines are considered civil violations, they will not add points to a driver's license, according to officials.
