ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A choking one-year-old child was recently saved by four U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at BWI Marshall Airport.

A Tuesday release issued by CBP stated the incident took place Friday as the boy and his parents were going through a primary inspection queue.

The family had just returned to the U.S. following a trip to Germany.

Three CBP agents initially responded to reports of the seizing child before a fourth official joined as the child was moved to a secondary inspection area. It was after the move that authorities noticed the child was turning blue.

CBP personnel were able to get the child to vomit and clear his airways after completing two rounds of five back blows on the boy.

The child was later taken to a local Baltimore hospital, according to the release. He remains in stable condition.
